As part of the UWA Recreation & Fitness Centre redevelopments, the Gym Main Floor will be closed from Thursday 2 Feb while we lay new carpet. We expect the Floor to ready and reopened on Tuesday 7 Feb.
This is the next stage of the Main Floor redevelopments, which so far have included removing the old office areas and expanding the floor space.
Once the new carpet has been laid, the next step is bringing in all the new equipment, as well as opening up the new Cycle Zone and High Performance Zone.
Along with this, the Tennis and Squash courts will be closed for resurfacing for the next two weeks starting Wednesday 1 Feb.
By resurfacing our courts, UWA Sports will bring the standard of our Tennis and Squash facilities up to world-class. This will benefit all current players, as well as provide a state-of-the-art location for future players and competitions.
We estimate that the courts should take roughly 10 days to be completely resurfaced, with the Tennis courts being completed by Sat 11 Feb and the Squash courts on Sun 12 Feb. All courts should be open by Monday 13 February.
In the event that the resurfacing extends past this estimate, we will notify you again. You can find more information about the redevelopment, what?s been done so far and what?s coming up, on the UWA Sports Website.
UWA Sports apologizes for any inconvenience this stage of the redevelopment may cause.
