Building a prospect list for your Internet Marketing Business ? it?s not exactly a subject to be discussing when you are supposed to be on holiday with your wife in Spain relaxing. However, needs be, so after travelling along the beautiful Algarve where the Mediteranean meets the Atlantic Ocean, the most South West point of Europe, to a lovely town called Lagos we had a great day visiting Church friends who are working amongst the poor and homeless in that area of Portugal. Having digested a fantastic lunch with them in their home we then sauntered back along the A22 to the Spanish border when my wife reminded me that we needed to write a blog on building a prospect list for Internet Marketers ? ?You?re kidding?

So I?m now dictating, whilst my wife is typing a blog for those of you who are keen to start your own Internet Marketing Business.

First of all, if you want someone to give you their email address, their name and home address, it?s a bit cheeky to ask outright for these details, so you should really be giving them something in return for their efforts.

Giving them something in return encourages them to leave that detail. An up to date prospect list can be worth ?1,000?s to you; so enticing them to leave that info is key to your future success in selling them more product.

So how do you entice them, ? can I suggest just one example to begin with, being a ?Free Report.? It need not be more than 30 pages in a ?word document? but the information that you give should be a taster of the quality that you want to sell to them. It could be just part information about the actual product that you want them to buy ? if they don?t feel they are getting value for money, or the document is not neatly set out, there are spelling mistakes and quite honestly the information in the Free Report is naff then there is no way they will be tempted to buy from you. Remember everything we do online paints a picture in the mind of your prospect of what kind of person you are and what kind of business you run. Whatever you do in your ?Free Report? should express your professionalism in Internet Marketing. The Free Report should be set up as a PDF.

The best definition I have heard of, of a ?Free Repor?t is something that is useful but imcomplete, or it should tell them what to do but not how to do it. The full report that you want to sell them or your main product will tell them how it is done. Lastly, remember first impressions count and your Free Report needs to convey information with integrity ? this will build confidence in your prospect to buy your main product. You see if your Free Report doesn?t give that first good impression whatever you try and do after that is actually going to be kind of difficult, to win that customer over because that is going to be their first experience with you.

A second way to entice your prospect with a freebie is to use a Mini Course which is a cut down version of information that people can use to find out more about your niche, your market or your topic and that is typically delivered over a period of say 14 days using an autoresponder system from someone like Aweber or Oneshoppingcart. The autoresponder will send out emails to people who join your list on set days ? it could once a week or once a month or whatever.

Finally, if you are prepared to learn and be taught by the professionals even mentored by some of the richest people in Internet Marketing the you too can expect to earn probably what you are earning a year in a month and much more if you?re willing to give 3 or 4 hours of your time per day. Internet Marketing gives you many and fantastic ways to give yourself financial freedom.
